A fifth Vermont farm signs LOI to develop a 100 kW anaerobic digester (video),
This farm has a compelling story, First, they are located on an island in Lake Champlain, which means phosphorus runoff is a serious issue. However, since manure that is digested and separated contains less phosphorus in the liquid portion, pollution from the fields will be decreased.
In addition, there is a school located close to its manure pit, very close. The reduction of odors and pathogens that the digester provides will make each school day more pleasant – and healthier as well!
